After almost exactly a year of living in Napa full-time today is the day I move into my new house! It was an emotional and exhausting road getting to this point, but I am so happy and thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given. Two of my angels above took great care of me and are still taking great care of me.

I’ll post pics as I get settled in so you can see the progress. My sister, Pookie Bokamper, has graciously offered to assist in my move because she’s craaaaazy! Ha! Very thankful for her help. My POD is scheduled to deliver between 12:30-3:30, the hottest part of the day, but it’s only supposed to be 80 today so we got lucky.

Since the sale of my parents house and waiting for my POD I’ve been staying at my BF’s parents house while they’ve been traveling. They have a great view of hot air balloons as they go by their backyard on weekend mornings. Love them!

Happy Birthday, Pookie (aka #7)! I’m glad I was able to celebrate with you and Mini-Pookie. It sure was fun wearing our tiaras, twirling our wands, and dancing around the kitchen table! We are such grown-ups! And, of course, Kara’s Cupcakes. Yum!

I’ll put these away until next time…teehee…

Today is #7’s VERY special day! Happy Birthday my little cupcake!!

I went to San Jose yesterday to visit Pookie (aka #7), J, mini-pookie, and to celebrate my birthday a little early. I can’t tell you how thoughtful and unselfish Pookie is…who else would buy me a Vera Bradley sunhat exactly like her own because I’ve been raving about hers ever since she bought it? A proper thank you will be snail mailed, but…I love it, love it, LOVE it!!

Now, hang on to your hat because I was also gifted with a set of torpedos that are used in the pool. I used my nephews to the point of exhaustion over the 4th of July weekend and now I have my very own!

I was updating my health care benefits today and the guy on the other end of the phone asked me a bunch of questions to make sure I qualified. Imagine my surprise when he wraps up the Q&A with “Have you used a backhoe in the past 2 years”? I paused as my mind reeled back to my childhood and weeding the yard with the short-handled hoe (#’s 1-7…you know what I’m talking about)…but, I finally replied…”A backhoe? I don’t think so.” Then he started laughing and said more clearly “t-o-b-a-c-c-o”.

The backhoe question didn’t seem totally unreasonable considering a month ago when signing up for renter’s insurance I was asked if I kept a trampoline or a snowmobile in my apartment…
