I snapped this photo of a lovely lady begging for money outside my neighborhood grocery store. “Spare change for a meal”, she squawked. Being the observant person that I am I noticed she was short on teeth so I had to assume all she could really eat is soup. I believe we have a soup kitchen or two in the city so I opted to not give this crack addict a dime which would most likely go toward her dime bag. Aight?

Happy Birthday, Pookie (aka #7)! I’m glad I was able to celebrate with you and Mini-Pookie. It sure was fun wearing our tiaras, twirling our wands, and dancing around the kitchen table! We are such grown-ups! And, of course, Kara’s Cupcakes. Yum!

I’ll put these away until next time…teehee…

On occasion, I put stuff on the sidewalk because that’s the easiest way to get rid of things I no longer need. It’s a city thing…sofas, tables, beds, etc…are often placed on the sidewalk at night and are gone by morning.

Here are tonight’s offerings: 1) a bag of plastic hangers, 2) a globe (which I LOVE, but haven’t had a place for in over a year), and 3) a shelf that took over 300 screws to secure to the wall.  It would’ve been less screws had I followed the instructions, but…

We’ll see if they’re gone in the morning…

UPDATE: They’re gone! Hooray!

I ran across this pair of Toms shoes while shopping in L.A. a few weekends ago and thought, “Self, you deserve a new pair of shoes”. Of course, by the time I returned to SF we were having a bit of a heat wave so I couldn’t in good conscience wear corduroy shoes. Harumph. Luckily, yesterday the clouds rolled in and I finally had a chance to wear them while shopping downtown. I can’t believe how comfy they are…and apparently all the rage. It seems everywhere I go someone is talking about Toms shoes. There were also a ton of ladies swarming the Toms table at Nordstrom…eek…run…

The best thing about Toms shoes is that for every pair you buy, they will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need. So awesome!

So, I assumed that tour buses actually had their own designated parking areas. Apparently not. It appears that tour buses can now park in residential parking spaces. Super-duper.

Thanks, Gold Coast Tours, for being completely annoying and taking THREE parking spaces tonight. No, really, it’s fine just fine. We have so many parking spaces available in SF that I sometimes drive around for hours just for kicks…

Gold Coast Tours hogging parking spaces!

Aaaaaahhhh…my team is out on vacay so I’m holding down the fort at work. We’re officially in “peak” (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas AND planning Easter). EXHAUSTING!!

Btw, I was organizing my closet last week and stumbled across plastic Easter eggs & grass and thought “Oh, I should pull these out…it’s almost Easter”. Ya, in like 8 months! The life of Retail…

I’d like to give a shout-out to the cast of the original Beverly Hills 90210 on “9-02-10” day! I used to watch it religiously back in the 90’s (yes, that actually is 2 decades ago) and hoped for Brenda’s hair and Kelly’s boyfriend…Dylan. No, Brandon. No, Dylan. No, Brandon. Not once did I wish for geeky David Silver or cheesy Steve Sanders.

I can’t believe “90210 Day” wasn’t top news today!
